help with london hotels please!

hi, im new to the site and would like a bit of help please
We are wanting to take our little boy to legoland at the end of july beginning of august for a few days, we were thinking maybe we could do legoland for 2days and chessington world of adventures for 1 more day, that would need a 3 night stay, so we will be wanting a hotel in the middle (ish) of them. need a cheap 1 like travel lodge or premier inn , while the £19 and £29 deals are on, or if anyone has satyed in another that they would recommend, i would be grateful for any help. Another thing ive found is that a lot of them dont have parking and this can put quite a bit extra on to costs. We dont mind being a bit out.
ive got my tesco 2 4 1 voucher, and have been collecting my points to turn into some vouchers
thanks :rotfl:

  • You should try the DeVere Sunningdale at Ascot. They regularly have some good deals. We stayed there once for £10.00. Had to pay extra for the breakfast but children ate free. They are about 20 minutes from legoland as well.
  • You might consider hotels in the Heathrow area as well, the Quality Hotel Heathrow looks to be offering particularly attractive rates around the time you want.

The two Travellodges at Heathrow seem to have the £29 rate going around the time you want, while the ones at Staines, Sunbury & Windsor seem slightly more expensive.

The Premier Inn Heathrow J4/M4 seems to have the cheapest availability out of the Premier Inns in the area at £106 for 3 nights.

Out of these I would probably pick the Premier Inn myself as I prefer them to Travelodges.

Legoland and Chessington are a bit outside London, so if I have read your post right, you seem to want a hotel for these attractions, rather than a London hotel. A 35 min drive away approx from Legoland and an hour from Chessington but you might want to consider the Millenium Copthorne Reading if weekdays . It is 4 star with a pool etc and they have a £10 a night deal on, but limited to one night per person booking, so you and OH could book 2 nights one in each of your names. They seem to only have double rooms, so when we went there we booked 2 rooms, as have 2 children for the night in hubbys name and one in mine and got them to link up after to interconnecting rooms. The rooms were big, so I am sure you could get them to put an extra bed in your your little lad-just email them to check first. Free parking at hotel. breakfast was expensive at £12.50 each, but there is a McDonalds and Burger King in front of the hotel. If you are doing a few days at the parks, it might be worth considering Merlin passes, as unlimited entry to the parks and London (but cannot use for London attractions in August, so would have to do the end of July)such as the Eye, sea life centre, Madam Tussauds, Warwick Castle. We got ours for £75 each on a half price deal, not sure if any similar arround now.

We stayed at the Devere Ascot on £10 a night deal like Woodling did, last August. We booked it in a sale at the end of May/June. It is only open to families over the weekends, as is a training centre weekdays it seems. Nice grounds and heated outdoor pool we had to ourselves on the Friday (pool only open Mon to Friday). They also upgraded up to 2 interconnecting rooms for no extra than the £10 paid, on arrival. There is a TL sale starting tomorrow, but for dates the end August to November and you would need to be very quick and lucky to get rooms for more popular locations near attractions. The sale/low cost rooms for July and rest of August for where you want to go were booked up withing a very short time in the last sale.

hi, thanks every1, just spotted that the travel lodge sale starts tomorrow, and my oh has a long weekend off at end of august so im going to get up early, and see if i can get 1 for then, but thanks for all your help :)
  • Try and pick the ones at heathrow if the location would be convenient for you ;) I think they are supposed to be better than the older travelodges.
