Never, entitled to and HRMC have always been within a few pennies of each other, and have been within a few pennies of my actual weekly claim amount.

Maybe it depends on how many benefits you are applying for? I only claim CTC so maybe mine is just a straightforward calculation?

    What are your figures?

Are you inputting the data in correctly?

Your childcare costs are £94pw for 52wks of the year? So childcare costs you £4888 or £407.33pm. Do you pay this amount every month to the nursery?

You state your income as £11.5k but was that for the FY 08/09, 09/10 or is it for the current FY 10/11?

Your award between April 2009 and April 2010 was based on the amount you earned in FY 08/09 (April 2008-April 2009) This years award (FY 10/11) is based on what you earned last FY, i.e April 2009 to April 2010.

Your figures do seem low if your FY08/09 income was declared as £11.5k

Additionally remember all the thresholds have just been moved for the new FY. All the amounts will have increased.

If you have been underpaid you will get it paid back to you in a lump sum payment
