Backing up problem

Hi I was backing up my computer and a message popped up saying "Operation Timed Out" What does this mean and what do I do to rectify it, and at the end of the program a box on the taskbar said "backup finished but with errors."
The solving of a problem lies in finding the solvers.

it was waiting for something to happen, or something to become available. When it was unable to find that thing, it gave up (timed out)

What "Operation Timed Out" means is that the expect time expired,
for example, your computer is attempting to backup a file but the file is in-use, computer waits 90 seconds and its still in-use, that operation would of hit its time out,

of course it may not be in-use but another reason, (should say in the logs)
Most backups will have errors, when backing up a active system, as you can't get access to these files while in-use (some are not needed, it temp files and pagefile)

To reduce the number of errors quit all programs before you run a backup, or do an off-line backup (ie Nortons Ghost $69.99, or Paragon's Backup & Recovery Free Edition Non-commercial use only),

The problem could be related to the Volume Shadow Copy, this is used to copy files that are in-use but can fail, (check the event logs to get the exact error)

    Hope this helps
