Hiya,
Can anyone suggest a way around the problem I have. The local internet provider (this is abroad, not in Europe) has blocked a number of sites I regulary (used to) visit, inc. facebook & now yahoo e-mail takes forever to open & often the page is distorted.
Anyone know of a free vpn tunnel I can lay through this to a server somewhere else & cut out their monkey business?

Maybe a chat with a different local ISP would help?Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0

I tried that link and have to say that I only got lucky in the end with staybusy.co.uk the others brought a whole load of junk dvertising up blocking the page I wanted.....will see how this site works but so far it has opened facebook0

You could look into Tor
To make it easy you can get packages such as xB Browser where it's tied into a customer version of Firefox.
Tor can be slow but it's generally good enough for web browsing and offers advantages over simple proxies.0 -

Yeah not all are great, but I've never failed to find those that let me do what I wanted. I just persevere until one works, opening up a load of tabs in the process. Keep in mind that most want you to retype the URL into their own form and don't like accepting requests from the proxy.org site.
I never saw much advertising to be honest though, but it may be because I use firefox with 'adblock plus' as well as the adblock filter set for 'Stylish'.0
