Upgrading account with Halifax

My sister is on benefits and would like to "upgrade" her account to one with a Visa rather then her visa electron. She used to have bad credit but managed to get a credit card and is improving her credit as much as she can.

Can she upgrade her account or would she be better off going for a new account with a new bank?

She can try for an upgrade. I guess it depends on her credit score and how much she gets on benefits. Just had a look at the Halifax website Unless she gets over 1K a month though she won't qualify for the Moneyback account or the High Interest Current account. They do a current account with a Visa Debit card which pays 0.1 interest when you fund it with less than 1K a month.
