Hi everybody im after arnold clarks autocare terms and conditions, but cant find them online?
Problem is. my cars brakes seized whilst driving today. cue lots of smoke from said tyre, and horrible burning smell.
i had a problem last year with my other tyre, the brake kept stayingon, but nothing like this. arnold clark stated it was warped brake pads? but ive been told by another mechanic, that it was more than likely the calipur?
my problem now is, i need to know whats covered brake wise with autocare warrenty. my uncle came to rescue me today and he had a look and said my pads are fine, but brakes have seized completely.
is this covered? what should i do if arnold clark say its warped pads again, and try to make me pay for it? any advice most welcome.:j

I've never heard of warped pads, I haven't a clue what that term could possibly mean. I'd suggest that Arnold Clarke are talking from between their rear cheeks.
Its far more likely that the caliper has seized. I wouldn't call that a wear and tear item, calipers should never seize. Even if you end up paying, a service kit and repair on a caliper shouldn't be a massively expensive job, £100-£200 I would have thought. You might even just get a new one for the sake of it.0 -
I have just got an Astra from Arnold Clark but declined their AutoCare. All I can see is the info leaflet which says full T&C available on request!thinkginge wrote: »Hi everybody im after arnold clarks autocare terms and conditions, but cant find them online?

The leaflet (click here) does state brakes; so I would expect that it covered all parts of brakes (calipers, discs and even pads) but knowing Arnold Clark they will have exclusions.0 -
It is probably the caliper or caliper slider(s) seized.
Been huge amounts of salt put down this winter and it needs hosing out from underneath regularly which few people do...seized brakes are a typical result.
The cars whole braking system needs cleaning and lubricating by the sound of it.0 -
Imagine that knowing Arnie's most things are excluded, but sounds like a caliper problem - not pads0

Hi, I would be happy to send you a copy of the booklet, which gives in detail all the terms and conditions. Please e-mail me with your details, even just your registration and I can get the rest from that.
Kind Regards
Alasdair
