. If - rather than when, by the way - Cameron and Osborne in time do something daft I will be honest in my response to it -

They already have. My father and I are life long tories, but are to vote labour.

    Down to;

+ Osbourne voicing a Bank should have gone down
+ Osbourne being dead against meaningful Q/E early on
+ An over abundance of out of touch Etonites in key roles all too happy to enter thier fabled 'age of austerity' which will impact the proles - yes this is not so prevalent in Labour ranks
+ A prevalence of reactionary backward looking Eric Pickles and John Redwood types

Who else could imagine Redwood as a vsicious victorian sea captain with one of those sideways admiral type hats on saying - "I will have discipline in this ship, have him flogged and keel hauled master bidding".
In other words still nasty and actually yes perceptions and personalites are just as important as policy given policy flows from tuther.

. Would you, out of curiousity, like to declare any financial relationship you have with a political party? It's probably not worth it, to be honest, as I don't think you're believed on here very much anyhow.

I disagree A LOT with ninky :D ;)but one has to take all posters at face value while holding also a simultaneous pinch of salt in this bizarre medium.

My feeling is that ninky is sincere in a her beliefs and has moments of complication in thought and belief contradiction and hypocrisy as do each and every one of us. I like about her her preparedness to ask questions and put herself out there....sometimes her questions make me think through my own approach to issues. what a boring place the world would be if there were not people very different to oneself in thoughts and thought process. I'm as grateful for the ''ninkys'' on the forum as I am for the ''Nicks''.

I think I need to remind people that Nick required some assistance in being so open with his background.

He still hasn't thanked me for helping him to be so honest yet either. What a cheek! ;):rotfl:

it seems particularly ironic that someone who is posting under an pseudonym should inform us all that he helped someone posting under his own name to be open.

As long as I've been on here, for well over a year, I've known Mr Mason was a Tory. I don't think he needs to put it in his signature. While I don't agree with everything he says, I respect his well thought out opinions, and think that he is clearly very open about his beliefs.

I suspect if more Tories were like Nick, there would be more support for the Tories.

I rather like that he bothers to explain his convictions on a public forum; I may not agree with them, but at least he bothers to engage with the public he is committed to serve, which is more than can be said of most politicians, of any colour.

There are a LOT of questions I'd like to ask and a lot of points I'd like to make to those in a position of power; if Nick could have words with those at the top, and tell them to get over here quick, that would be absolutely marvellous!!

Aw, you've just made me swoon! Although I'm not that well connected, sadly. I do enjoy learning from this forum, though - indeed I think I'm here to learn more than to lecture, so maybe those points will filter through eventually, when I get to write some treatise... hmm, "the third way"....

Don't be silly, carolt - those in power have far better things to do than engage with the likes of us.

Apart from once every few years when we can tick a box for them.

"Actually, there's much more you can do; you could help leaflet, or come canvassing, or maybe put up a poster?" Oh, I see what you mean.:o;)
