How to cancel 30 day trial of Equifax

Gf done the free trial of Equifax and now is struggling to cancel it before they start charging, have looked everywhere on their website, and tried the phone number several times but it just puts her through to 'all lines are busy' message, anyone know how to cancel it please?

Many thanks in advance

I think you need to phone them....so at risk of stating the obvious....stay on the line until you speak to someone.

If you cancel the card or the payments then it'll be regarded as unpaid and cause you trouble.

Thanks darich, I managed to get through last year to cancel mine, but I've been sat with the better half several times while she's been on hold, foot tapping, frowning at me lol

I'll let her know to keep trying

Equifax is easily cancelled online. Go here and login:

    https://www.econsumer.equifax.co.uk/consumer/uk/sitepage.ehtml?forward=gb_contact_us

Go to: Ask a question about my credit report

Product: (pull down) Equifax Credit Report
Category: (pull down)I would like to cancel
(pull down)....my 30 day free trial

and away you go from there. Easy.

Experian are the charlatans who insist you do it by phone and don't answer it for hours....

Equifax is no different. Did the cancellation online on 1st April, and they still charge me on 2nd April and then also send me an email on 6th saying they have cancelled my subscription but after charging me the £6.99 even though I cancelled in time.

You requested a cancellation immediately before a bank holiday (and NOT 'in time' by the look of things), so what do you expect?

  • Did You know by law you can request a statutory report every 12 months for free because they are holding info on you that you might want to check is correct, I say free but they are allowed to charge an admin fee, I paid £2 to Equifax, can request through their website without signing up for the 30 day Trial. I still rang up near 30 days to be sure but they told me there was nothing to cancel

Cancelled Experian a couple of weeks ago by phone. Didn't take long, no hassle, email confirmation within minutes.
