disclaimer first - I am not techy and need plain english!!
I have a computer - one I am not using anymore, and I also have a new computer
I want to transfer my songs to my new computer.
I thought I had done it, and now it says cannot locate file -search? when I search for the music file, it is under music stored in a file named Itunes, and all the songs are there
If it is any help, I did it by following this article below. I have an external Seagate drive thing - note the technical term there :rotfl:

At what point does 'it' say 'cannot locate file' ? When you open iTunes? When you click on a track to play it?0

yes. Except really I need to do it off the hard drive. My old computer has pretty much died and keeps switching itself off. I am just trying again by going into Itunes - file - add file to library and selecting the file with the music in0

ok, have done that and it worked! (like it did last time until I restarted the computer!)
except now I have two of every song - all 3000 of them....one that works, and one that doesn't. Is there a quick way of deleting the ones that don't work?0 -
