Multimedia Player

I currently have a ScreenPlay multimedia player but I find it really annoying that I can't delete films using the remote control. I have to connect back up to the computer and by the time I get round to doing that I've forgotten what we've watched and have to look at the beginning of the films to remind myself! :( I would like to get one with more storage capacity anyway but want one that connects directly to the TV like the ScreenPlay does. I also want one that has a delete function on the remote! I've tried Google but I'm obviously not searching with the right phrases because it's telling me nothing......so over to you! Does anyone have one or know of one that has this function?? TIA

  • Looks to be what I want but I got lost in the specs! :o
These are probably really stupid questions but I'm going to ask them anyway!
Does 'full remote' mean I can do everything from it eg delete films I've watched?
Does it recognise divx, mp4, etc so I don't need to convert?
Do I download from the PC to the player and then just connect it to the tv by a cable to play back like I do with my current one?
Does it include everything I need - that is I don't need to buy a separate hard drive or anything to use it?
Hope you don't mind the questions - I spent hours buying my last one and I think it's more through luck than management that I got something that just about did what I wanted it to!

On the remote you Press "Menu > then Click Delete"

Says it Supports MP4 Video Format and Divx Video Codec

    You can Either:
    1) use the player itself and browse through your network and stream over the network , or "file copy" to the hard-drive.

    2) use your pc to copy the files to the players hdd over the network

    3) use a usb hdd or pen drive and plug in the side of the player and copy or play over.

Does it include everything I need - that is I don't need to buy a separate hard drive or anything to use it?

Comes with everything you will need, except a ethernet cable. Very good quality HDMI cable which is thick and protected. 1TB hard-drive included. The player itself supports up to 2tb.

They have a updates normally once a month based on forum responses.

The forum is always operational and someone is there to respond to problems etc. If there something that you would like to see and it gets response they will try to include it in the update.

If you use "torrents" then the player supports this, being able to download torrents and leave it. either add them from the player or a web interface from your networked pc.

Hope you don't mind the questions - I spent hours buying my last one and I think it's more through luck than management that I got something that just about did what I wanted it to!

I was and wasn't in the market for one. I used my laptop constently to connect up but i'd have to turn off things and disable other things , just not to be disturbed while watching something.

When i was at the gadgetshow, the guy really sold it to me, and even told me to read a review in "Home Cinema" magazine that they got the best review, he even tol dme to go check out the competitors that were there and come back if it was the one. to which i did. I made sure it was the best and that he wasnt just giving me any old story.
