Mailer-Daemon problems

I just switched pc on and found lots of Mailer-Daemon emails and lots of delivery status notification emails. No idea why as not been sending many emails lately, anyone have any ideas whats going on? Thanks :)

    If you're sure you haven't sent any of the emails then it's possible you have malware. See the Malware thread at the top of this forum, run the recommended scans and post the logs.
    Someone with more expertise than me should be around to have a look and advise as necessary.

    Additionally to the above,

    - When were they dated, all from the same date?
    - All to the same person, or multiple?
    - Are the addresses with the same provider (i.e hotmail, yahoo)
    - Who is your provider?
    - Does it give the reason why the delivery fail'd (error codes) ?

    It's most likely possible there has been some form of malware / spoof mailer hence the multiple addresses (most likely cause if they're random generated), however they could also be genuine mails that have been delayed. As some mail programs have delayed reports.

    It's most likely malware / spoof, given what's going around lately. Especially if it's hotmail or yahoo based, because I get loads of random addresses adding me lately.
