Why do decoraters always reccommend Dulux paint?

I've been painting my bedroom and have used both Crown and Dulux emulsions. The Crown was relatively thin but went on easily and didn't "spray" when I was using the roller. The Dulux was a nightmare. It was dead thick and seemed to clag to the walls. It also sprayed so I was covered when I'd finished.
Both needed 2 coats so the covering power was the same but I used a lot less of the Crown.
Oh well, back to the grind.

I prefer Crown, we always look at both but end up buying Crown I just love using it, goes on much easier and like you have said no spray (except when we had to dilute it to paint the new plastered ceiling!!!) My other favourite is Wilkinsons paint, but they don't have the choice of colours like Crown /Dulux etcTo be in your child's memories tomorrow, be in their life today.0

the dulux range of products and colours far greater than any other maufacturers
the trade emulsion paints are thicker so they can be thinned to the users liking
plus dulux are the market leader afaik . performance wise there's not much to choose between crown or dulux , but i think more builders merchants stock dulux .
the one i use did stock both for a long time , but they stopped doing crown after they kept them waiting ages for something , i can't remember what0 -
Well Crown paint certainly sprayed when I painted my living room a few weeks ago! I have yet to find a paint that doesn't when using a roller...For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0

Dont know i always always use crown. If you want to get with me there's some things you got to know,.
I like my beats fast and my base down low0 -
Apart from DULUX diamond eggshell, all other paint i use is crown.
(mainly because they are nearer and give nectar points)
Not much in it as far i can tellNever put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

An ex of mine was a painter/decorater and would travel miles to go to the dulux trade centre instead of just going to Wilkinsons or B and Q. He would never use anything but. It's the first time that I've used Crown but I'll definitely use it again. The Dulux was like rolling treacle0

s
that it not the case - dulux were taken over by akzo nobel , who were then required to sell crown as they had a monopoly - over 50% of the paint market , crown paints are now a company in their own right http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/lancashire/7571881.stm0
