Are Low Profile Switches the same as Flat Plate ones?

We need to buy ligh switches and sockets but the walls aren't perfect in our house so we don't want to get the flat plate ones. Seen these:

They state low profile, would they be more forgiving than the flat plate ones?
Thanks

Can't advise about fit to the wall but be aware that if you try and tighten these plates down too much, the metal tends to bend a bit and they don't look flat any more. Although they cost a bit more, have a look at the ones where the metal cover clips on to the frame underneath. (The switch is in the frame that screws into the wall box and the cover then clips on). They look a lot better than the ones with the screws in.0
