Bath has some rust near plughole...Help!

There is a bit of rust where the enamel has come off near the plughole. I think this bath was resurfaced before I moved in 13yrs ago.
The landlord (H.A.) sent a guy to make good. He left me with what resembled grey putty not just near the plug, but also up the sides of the bath. It looked disgusting. The putty has all come off now and I have a slightly larger rusty bit. Can I use something like Hammerite to paint over it? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

This happened to my bath and after much research I decided to replace it. Resurfacing cast iron baths is a big jog and quite expensive to have done professionally. You can buy kits online to do it yourself but it is hard work and apparently the end result doesn't last very long.

I don't think that painting over it with Hammerite will work, at least not for long. I think you should ask your landlord for a new bath.
