I would also have recommended body spray - any sort of deo apart from the ones which leave a white powder. I have used it to remove permanent marker from glass, so should remove whiteboard marker from clothing...
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!

Giving it a go with the body spray tomorrow. Do I spray it on and let it dry then wash or wash it when the spray is still wet?

Yep definitely body spray - I'm a teacher and very clumsy! Just spray it on (quite a lot so it's wet) then rub it together, then a bit more spray, rub together again, then stick in the wash it should come out fine.

I would imagine it's pretty much the same as the hairspray, spray and dab, spray and dab - with hairspray it sort of dissolves into the rag you are using. I have a piece of old terry nappy I use for stuff like this.

Let us know how you get on
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

  • Well I tried the body spray and it made no difference at all:( Will buy some hairspray later and try that.

Are you sure it was a whiteboard pen and not a permanent marker?

Nail varnish remover is supposed to be good for removing permanent marker and I've heard good reviews about a product called Amodex.

  • He reckons it was whiteboard marker but I'm beginning to think it wasn't. Will try the nail varnish remover first thanks, it can't make it any worse can it:mad:

Just resurrecting this thread as I am so impressed. My OH got blue board marker on his (TK MAX) designer shirt first time on! Wouldn't come out with washing up liquid or clothes washing liquid or vanish but a couple of squirts of hairspray and abracadabra it disappeared.
    Many thanks
;) If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!
