Gordon Scott shoe shops

I want to congratulate Gordon Scott shoe shops on their excellent customer service.
I bought some Loake shoes from them in the January sales, spending more than I usually would because Loakes are very good quality British shoes and I expected them to last for a very long time - being easily re-soled and re-heeled.
I was very upset when, in fact, the leather on both shoes began to peel really seriously, so much so that they looked like rubbish.
Because the shop I'd bought them from is 30+ miles from home, I didn't have chance to return with the shoes until yesterday.
I was expected some nonsense about wear and tear, or user neglect, or some such, and thought I'd have to give them some grief about "not of merchantable quality". But I'm pleased (and slightly surprised) to report that after a few minutes inspecting the shoes, the manager agreed I could have a replacement pair.
In fact, as they have another sale on, the replacement pair cost slightly less and I walked out of the shop with a new pair of shoes and £6.50 in my pocket!
