Apologies in advance if this has already been covered a million times; if so, please feel free to post the link/s, but I couldn't find anything when just searching for "granite" on the forums....
We're currently awaiting delivery of our new kitchen, but the next job is sourcing the granite. I've found a few websites, and used a few "online calculators", but the common theme in this industry (like many, I guess, lol) is how much they sl@g each other off, saying "our way is best" - don't go with x-method of sourcing/cutting/fitting granite, as that's BAD!! Is on-site cutting best? Paying at the end once satisfied? Using chinese/indian etc granite? Saying "no" to blanks, AAARRGGHH?!?!
So I was just wondering, is there a general consensus on who to use, and - more importantly - who to avoid like the plague?!? All I want is star galaxy (don't we all?!), 2 straight runs, and a breakfast bar area. I want the company to come on-site to template, and I live in Lincolnshire....any pointers would be massively appreciated, as my budget is already over-spent in other areas, so money IS an object here! :rotfl:
Thanks for reading,
L

Read the following thread first.
I was the original author.
If you're on a budget then pre produced countertops is the only way to go, it sounds like you have a straight forward fit.

Hi Alan
After thoroughly reading your excellent advice in the other thread, I tried 2 local firms who were going to charge £3200 + VAT, and £3600 + VAT. Mister Marble have come in at £2800 incl VAT - significantly cheaper, but not suspiciously so, IMO.
They seem very "on it", and I'm struggling to find a barrage of awful reviews - as a trade insider, can you offer any final words of comfort/warning before we commit?
Many thanks in advance if you take the time to reply.

Unfortunately, due to the unique way MSE works it's been made clear that it's not appropriate for me to comment on questions of this nature on the open forum.
Absurd I know - but by openly stating I'm in the business - any opinion I may have, and I do have an opinion, can not be trusted as being impartial.0
