checking out boiler installers?

is there anywhere you can check up on installers of boilers to see if they have a track record of happy customers?
We've had several quotes come through and the lowest is the lowest by a good few hundred pounds for the same boiler, with thermostatic radiator valves and a room thermostat thrown in for free - are there any online communities where you can make sure they're not (or are!) cowboys? The quote is £2K less than British Gas for a start

Gas Safe Register would be a great start - this shows they are qualified and registered to install in the first place!! http://www.gassaferegister.co.uk/0

Good evening: has the RGI been recommended by a source you trust? You can always ask for references from satisfied customers. Gas Safe Register only maintains a register of gas installers and doesn't make recommendations. Check to see if your RGI is also a member of the CIPHE
But .....nothing beats a personal recommendation from a knowledgeable/reliable source.

Almost any independent installer should be quoting at about 66% of British Gas.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

Try your local council web site, I know Hampshire have a "trusted" register, maybe yours does to?
Also try Checkatrade, not foolproof, but at least you can get some guideGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0
