Dyson repairs £69

OH killed our Dyson last week so he phoned their service people who said the motor was probably dead. They came out to "service" the machine which costs a standard £69. For that we got a new motor, new cable, new handle, new wheels, new brushes, new sole plate...in fact I think the only original bit left is the bit where the dust collects. Well worth it if you have a poorly machine.

I have used this before. They have a 2 tier pricing - Its £69 if you need a new motor and £35 if you don't - You still get a full service though!''Aim for the moon, because if you miss you will still land amongst the stars''0

Worth noting that if your dyson is under 5 years old and something breaks they will send new parts out in the post for free if you ring them up.0

I'm hoping to get ours serviced - still working but suction isn't great - would love to know how to get it done for £35 as the website only mentions the £69 charge?:www: :: MFi3 ::

Try ringing them up and see what they say.0

Hm, if that is the case why was I charged £69 for a service that only involved a new brushbar? Also, i had PAID for a new hose thingy that goes underneath the machine only a couple of weeks earlier, cost about £7, and they wouldnt even take that off the price of the service :mad:I have used this before. I have the DC20 stowaway one and I have broken various bits of it about 5 or 6 times. They just sent me new free parts when I rang up and asked for them. I guess if they send a person to fix it then they charge you so you need to just ask for the parts if you know what is wrong.0

Agreed, the aftersales service is awesome- if you phone them asking for help with your vacuum cleaner/Dyson (DO NOT SAY HOOVER!) and they think you can just swop the part yourself, they'll usually send it out free.0

As long as you're within the warranty period, surely.0

The after sales is awesome because they are so used to there machines going wrong!!
I had 3 dysons and all of them stopped sucking up after a while and were generally poor.
5 of my friends so far have binned there dysons for poor suction so I have now opted for a Vax vacuum that comes with a standard 6 year warranty and is so much more powerful than any other Dyson I have used and I have used quite a few being a key hold cleaner.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. I've got a DC07 from about 8 years ago and it's still going strong.0
