Has anyone ever bought a (new) shed from eBay?

There seems some decent quality sheds on ebay but I'm wary. Anyone ever bought a wooden shed from the more established business sellers?

We haven't bought a shed from Ebay, but have just taken delivery of a very nice chicken coop.

It arrived very quickly and was made of good quality timber. Following this, we ordered an extra run from the same seller.

No problems at all, best to check seller's feedback thoroughly though, and Paypal gives you more protection.

    Good luck

Not a shed, no, but I have bought all manner of things from eBay shops. Most companies on eBay have established businesses outside of eBay.

In the past week, I have bought a built in cooker extractor and an integrated dishwasher from eBay sellers.

If their feedback is good, you should be OK, just pay by PayPal.

Thanks to both. :) Just to clarify...I've bought and sold on ebay, I have no qualms about the process, my concern is really to do with shed quality. I've bought sheds from well known companies previously and been disappointed with the poor quality so I'm looking around and considering more options.

I want a size which isn't your standard 8' x 6' or 10' x 12' etc and there are a few sellers which do a wide range of sizes in heavy duty timber/bearers etc.

I would check the seller's feedback and send a message through Ebay asking about quality.

If you buy from an established seller who has a business, am pretty sure you can return within a few days, under 'distance selling regulations'.

as a rule the cheaper sheds will all be much the same quality. ebay or the park retailers.
what your getting with ebay is cheaper prices for the same/similar item.
the big retailers have high overheads.

phrases such as heavy duty/high quality dont mean very much.
ie your definition is different to mine. ask any lawyer!

the only to make sure is to ask the right objective questions, ie what thickness is the cladding etc...
    Get some gorm.

What I call heavy duty is 3 x 2 framing rather than 2 x 2 and 19 or 22mmm cladding instead of 12mm etc. I wasn't going by the words ' heavy duty' in descriptions etc, but rather my own criteria iyswim.

I know there are a lot of sellers who use these words to describe what I would class as standard. Some of them are really having a laugh, I don't know how they sell tbh. :)

Not exactly, but I've found two local companies, and been round to look at the sheds to check the quality.

Yes we bought a shed from Ebay about two years ago - it cost about £500 and the guys came down from Nottingham and assembled it too.

We stained it and have been pleased with its quality and finish.
Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.
