any tips /recommendations... i know someone over 60 who got at least 10% because of this. they are with southern electric.what exists with scottish power?

What does it say on the Scottish Power website?

You get a Winter Fuel Allowance of £250pa at 60, then rising to £400 pa at 80. That's about it.

and check southern electric as sometimes companies do NOT advertise this fact!

If you receive benefits, like Disability Living Allowance or Pension Credit, you're probably entitled to various 'Social Tariffs'? They won't appear on switching web sites, so get your annual consumption (add up your last years bills) in kWh (not £) and spend some time phoning suppliers and seeing what they can offer!
