Really shocked by letters from SFE. Some advice please?

Thanks for the encouragement Taiko. Maybe all isn't lost.
Didn't get a phone call today, maybe tomorrow. The lady at SFE said it should be within 48hours.

So, I got the call later on yesterday. No real surprises, it was all as you said; I'm only entitled to two years so next year is fine. I checked that I'd done everything correctly and it was their error.
I'm gonna write a letter of complaint but the money and welfare lady I talked too yesterday recommended I go see the Student Union who have people who help out with this sort of stuff first. I have an appointment but not till Monday.
Is there anything I should focus on, in particular, in my complaint? Was there any lever that swung it for the student you mentioned Taiko?
Thanks to everyone for taking an interest. The support really helped. Now I know the whys for definite I feel better about it and can juts concentrate on solutions.0 -
The fact I have common sense was the thing that swayed it for my student. I looked over the paperwork, saw it was our error, and let them have the support as a goodwill gesture, whilst at the same time making clear that they had no entitlement to fee support in future (they had a previous degree, so was restricted support).
They do not have to do this, but this late in the day maybe mention it. Then it that fails, go down the media route, they love a good story.0
