When I applied for LHA they sent me a form to fill in regarding my self employment income and asked for bank statements to go with it. HTH x

    Hi Karen

    Each LA is different sadly!

In mine we do the following

    1) Ask for a projection of earnings for first 13 weeks for s/e
    2) after 13 weeks ask to see evidnece of actual income and use that for the next 13 weeks
    3) After 26 weeks, ask to see earnings for past 26 weeks and use that for next 26 weeks of claim
    4) after 52 weeks, ask for 1 years audited accounts and use that for the following year.

    Hope this help!
I currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.

    We're the same.

OP, you'll probably also be expected to produce all of your invoices and receipts and perhaps prove that they relate to your business.
