Mrs

I am to be made redundant and am already on a debt management programme. I wish to pay my debts off with my redundancy money, would it be acceptable to ask for a settlement figure from my debtors? Is there a standard letter that I could adapt for this?

Go to the DebtFree Wannabe's section of the forums. You will get good advice. You need to be canny about how you do it - not favouring any one of them - but getting them all to bid against each other for the money you do have.

You may want to offer monies on a pro rata basis in full and final settlement. I would suggest taht you get someone such as CAB to write the letters for you as they may be able to get the address of those who can make these decisions rather than a call centre in Asia
