Hi im new to this site i hope someone can help
i have i phoned the dwp to say i had moved in with partner.they said doesnt matter doesnt effect your Incapacity Benefit no need to tell us im just worried somewhere down the line they might say i didnt tell them.i tell them everything even ehen i started claiming child tax cedits but worry when they say doesnt matter no need to tell us in case its incorrect.
if it doesnt effect my benefit in any way as this is not means tested and they say i havent told them could it be classed as fraud.i get noother benefits as my partner works

Welcome to MSE Helen,
If you are only claiming IB, moving in with your partner will not have any impact on your entitlement. Is your partner receiving Working Tax Credits, or any housing/ council tax benefits? If so, you will need to change these to a joint claim.Gone ... or have I?0 -
thanks for your reply .hi no my partner just gets child tax credit but with have told them im living here so that has now changed.we dont get housing benefit or council tax benefit.im just worried they might come back and say i didnt tell them i had moved in with partner and i may get into trouble even thouugh it doesnt effect my benefit0

As dmg says your IB will not be affected, even if it was you have told them of the change. If you are worried you could always put it in writing and then you are fully covered.0 -
hi it was over a year ago so it be bit odd putting it in writing now im just concerned if they didnt log my call or write it on my notes i may get into trouble later on.or cant you get in trouble if it doesnt effect your benefit0

You won't get into trouble as it does not affect your Benefit.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
