Gravel size to deter cats
Does anyone have any experience of what size gravel (or other aggregate) could be used for a garden paths that cats wouldn't or couldn't scratch around for a litter tray?
I'm hoping to find a size that is ok to walk on, doesn't go green with algae, and the cats hate.
Is there such a thing?

If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

I'd love to have shingle or bark chip but would spend my life living in fear of underfoot squashees.."carpe that diem"0 -
20mm if you have to walk on it
40mm if you don't (but you have to insist it is available at the builders merchant)0 -

The shape of the gravel also seems to be a factor - they like the rounded stuff but tend to keep away from the sharper, rougher ones. These also lock together better for walking on.0

slate chipping should be quite effective.0
