Bellis (daisy) and windflower - growing advice?

Hi,
Just been to B&Q to buy plants to establish a barren bit of garden.
Bought a beautiful bellis (daisy) the pink variety and a "wind flower".
Just wondered if either of these are likely to spread a lot as we don't want them taking over the entire area!
Also we'd like to keep one of the bellis in a plant pot on the patio but are not sure if it would die if kept in a pot and not planted out? Any advice would be brilliant.
Many thx in advance.

If it's what I'm thinking of, bellis tend to be grown as a biennial to be honest, so you don't have to worry too much about it going mad. It'll be fine in a pot, as long as it's big enough and you water and feed it. It can be prone to powdery mildew, so keep eye.
Windflower...is that Japanese Anemone? I think the only problems you might get is if the conditions aren't right. If you plant it in full sun, they spread along to cooler soil.0 -
I have a few clumps of Japanese Anemone (Windflower) in both my back and front garden and they do spread if not kept in check. They have such a pretty flower though and have quite a long flowering season late summer into autumn."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Hi
Many thanks for the replies. Will go ahead and try the bellis in a pot - have a lovely blue/white pot and the contrast between this and the bellis is gorgeous.
Agree with you, TravellingAbuela, the windflower is a beautiful delicate flower and I plan to put it in a coolish spot and will take your advice about keeping it in check.0
