Out of Warranty but only just!

I have a problem with Currys. We bought a Netbook in March 09. Last weekend the battery died. I called Currys who told me i was lucky to get 12 months life from the battery and basically it was tough as it was outside the warranty!!
We have two of these Netbooks, exactly the same. The older one is fine, the battery works well. The battery that has died is in a Netbook that is only used 1-2 a week at the most. When i explained this i was told i was lucky and was getting bonus time out of my older Netbook battery!
Am i insisting on too much expecting a battery to last longer than 12 months and expecting them to make some effort to exchange it under Sale of Goods Act, product endurance?

thanks

Kate

only guessing here but if your only using the netbook once or twice a week perhaps the battery hasn't been getting charged enough and consequently has therefore died?

I agree, the OP has hijacked another thread anyways and ive already stated that batteries are usually consumables and they wont get very far.
    Back by no demand whatsoever.
