Naive question about radiator innards.

I have 2 rads that have been temporarily removed during refurb work.
I'm embarrassed to admit one of them has been off the wall for over a year and the work still isn't done.
The other has been off for maybe 6 weeks.
When they were removed, they were taken outside and drained and then put in the understairs cupboard and left.
Will they be ok to put back again or will they have rusted internally because of how long they've sat there with damp insides? Should I just buy new ones?
They're these btw....

If they were in good condition when they were taken off, there is no reason why they should not still be in good condition. Especially if the place of storage was dry. There is also, no reason to suppose that the insides did not dry out within a few hours of them being removed.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
all depends on your budget situation. if its tight then use them. if money is ok then get new ones.
new rads are not that expensive.Get some gorm.0 -
Take them outside.
Pour some water in them with a hosepipe.
Shake them about a bit.
Pour out the water and see if it is reasonably clear or very rusty coloured.
That will give you a good idea of the state of the insides.
If there is little rust you are probably ok as that may well have been there from when you removed them.
Repeat a few times if there is rust and see if it clears.
If in doubt, as Ormus says, new radiators are not expensive.
But reuse them if you can, better for your pocket and the environment.0
