Jeez, Falkirk office are diabolical, after I asked for a full account breakdown the team leader from the partial clerical section informed me it would take month's to do a full audit, she even mentioned she was confused with my case noyes after reading just a few pages
doesn't give anyone faith in whatever the CSA come up with0 -
Looks like they are now considering Bankruptcy. As well as the CSA taking 40%, the Solicitors on behalf of the Council tax are also taking 20 %, both starting in June. This is because they were advised my Daughter could not now keep to the agreement with them as the CSA were taking so much off! As we know that both of these do not get written off in Bankruptcy can any one tell me if the CSA would then allow the debt paid off over a longer period than 2 Years in these circumstances?
Can anyone also suggest any way they can live for the next few months? Is there any help out there?Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0 -

First thing apply for a copy of your data protection files(sticky at top of the thread adress etc) to see what correspondance he and the CSA has. If he has informed them of his not working status then maybe a MP can help and go to a 2nd tier tribunal. Also get NACSA involved yo see if they can help .
Unfortunately the CSA won't back down nor will the council and hopefully they can can get help but it will be a long drawn out process .
I know you can't write off CSA arrears in bankruptcy

Joyful, I'm sorry to hear things are so bad. I don't think there is any stess worse then financial stress.
Here are a couple of suggestions, but I'm sure your daughter and her husband have thought of these already:
2nd child - Has your daughter applied to the CSA for support of the second child, or is the biological father paying child support?
Have they asked the CSA to stretch the payments out over a longer term because of the extreme hardship caused to the children of the household?
Have they applied for any funding from a charity or local trusts? My local area and others around it have got 'trusts' where needy residents can apply for grants. You can also find church groups that distribute food.
Is your daughter well enough to work, if not, does she qualify for disability benefit?
Can your son-in-law get another job to suppliment his low earnings? I know if it were me and my partner couldn't work, I would happily work 2 jobs to get food on the table and pay bills.
Are they able to live with you until they get back on their feet?
Just a few thoughts, best of luck to them.0 -
The first childs father is playing games since coming out of the Army in December so no money there. The CSA are chasing but advised a 2 month wait. The CSA say they will look at it again in 4 months once they have been paying the 40%.
My Daughter has tried a couple of hours a week but not been able to sustain this but does not qualify for DLA. Her Daughter is being looked after a couple of days a week as her health is so bad.
My Son in law starts work sometimes at 4.30 in the morning and doesn't finish till late.
As they have a mortgage and they live in a different location living with me is not the answer but thanks for all you comments.
They have applied to the BG Energy trust but it takes weeks to get an answer.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
