CSA arrears

  • Blob I personally know 2 Male NRPs who have attempted Suicide because of unreasonable CSA demands.

Sad isn't it that at least 62 little ones are growing up without a parent becasue of the CSA / CMEC.

Strangley and OT I'm sure if a model of car had a fault that killed 62 people it would be fixed !

Why put all of the blame for the alleged suicide rate on the CSA? I think it is very important to remind ourselves that the CSA don't go around randomly selecting compliant NRP's to apply their enforcement powers on.

From my first experience with the CSA they treated me as non-compliant and proceeded with enforcement action without providing me an opportunity to demonstrate otherwise. Random or not, it was not a particularly pleasant experience to be judged guilty by default and then have to fight to be treated as innocent.

I started this thread saying they lost on Appeal which I thought was disgraceful as he was unemployed for most of the time but not claiming benefits. The crux of the matter though, irrespective of the reason, is the amount of money taken leaves not enough to live on. Surely this can't be right in todays society? The PWC has been claiming benefits for years and getting a higher income than my SIL after taking housing etc into account so most of the money goes to the government. They have actively been trying to get this sorted with the CSA for weeks.

same as me redsky.....never even give me an amount to pay,and went straight for a deo which backfired as i had offered £50 per week but they said it was'nt enough and were going for a doe,at which point i told them to, as i'd just gone on 3 days at work and it would'nt cover the £50 i'd offered....they soon changed their minds.....:rotfl:and now i'll just stay on 3 days until they say my arrears are paid..........

In the cases I know of they were compliant

1 Had a DEO applied without his knowledge ( he didn't get copies of the paperwork ) they started to take £200 per week when his take home was £240. His ex had actually started a CSA case before even leaving him.

Another got so fed up of the constant demands for information.

In my own case at one point they were doing 3 assessments at the same time, on 2 I was viewed as non compliant and threatened with courts etc because I couldn't supply wage slips, mortgage statements etc - yep they were with the CSA for one of the other Assessments. I think I'm pretty tough but it nearly broke me and I can see how some NRPs would crack under the pressure
 I've paid the CSA off and stopped them taking payments:beer:
I'm stillowed some arrears by my ex

I was a NRP, now I'm a PWC, partner of a PWC, and parent of a PWC ( and very confused at times )

Very simply put these are the sucides that the Corriners have found to be the fault of the CSA. Do you suggest that the Courts are wrong in this after they have considered all of the evidence. After all the Courts in this Country are free for a reason, and Govenment made it that way!
  • Said it before,Il say it again.....they dont care if us NRP`s are living in a ditch...as long as we are paying up!

It's so stupid that they are being left with not enough money to live on. Even the CCCS and CAB have said they are a law onto themselves. The CAB said they are even advising people to give up their jobs as they cannot see that their clients can cope with the amount being taken for arrears.

I think especially if the arrears have arisen because of a dispute people should be able to spread the costs out and still be able to live.

This is not about trying to get out of paying- just trying to take care of people in the house also. Seeing the hoops my family have gone through with both the tax credits and now the CSA I think the government have failed many people.
