Recording gameplay off ps3

My son wants to record his gameplay off his PS3 to put onto his youtube channel, he has asked me to sort it out :o

I didn't know what was required so went into my local Maplin store yesterday and asked the question, I ended up leaving with a capture card (AVerMedia AVerTV GO 007 FM plus) and a two phono 3.5mm stereo adapter, whatever that is.

On looking at the thing inside the box it seems it has to be fitted inside a computer, well that's me done then. I don't fancy taking my sons new computer apart and riski braking it.

Does anyone know of a way to record the gameplay without this rigmerole, perhaps a nice easy plug and play product.

thanks in advance

You can try what darksydephil does on Youtube. Get a digital camera + tripod, or a Youtube camcorder and record on that.....

or wire it to the TV via a DVD recorder and record as normal. Will need to do some editing on the PC afterwads though
