Recording gameplay off ps3

My son wants to record his gameplay off his PS3 to put onto his youtube channel, he has asked me to sort it out
I didn't know what was required so went into my local Maplin store yesterday and asked the question, I ended up leaving with a capture card (AVerMedia AVerTV GO 007 FM plus) and a two phono 3.5mm stereo adapter, whatever that is.
On looking at the thing inside the box it seems it has to be fitted inside a computer, well that's me done then. I don't fancy taking my sons new computer apart and riski braking it.
Does anyone know of a way to record the gameplay without this rigmerole, perhaps a nice easy plug and play product.
thanks in advance

Check out the Pinnacle Dazzle range. They attach via USB.
One of them should do the job.

You can try what darksydephil does on Youtube. Get a digital camera + tripod, or a Youtube camcorder and record on that.....Owner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them
