Firewall/security options for Windows 7

Hi,
Have just made the great leap forward to windows 7 after a disastrous run with vista - night and day difference, really.
So when I had vista I was running zonealarm as a firewall, it used to give messages about certain activities of programs on the computer and gave the option to block (which I must say I appreciated).
Now the question is what do you think of running zonealarm with win 7, is it compatible or is there a better alternative?
Please bear in mind that for most of the year I am travelling on business, hooking in to third party wi-fis in various parts of the world & airport lounge internet space so I really need to be concerned about security
Would be interested to hear your experiences and suggestions for best way to tackle this.

Thanks for that Basil  , I'm already running ESET home edn. a/v so maybe worth changing to their full security package, but have the remains of the zonealarm subscription to run0

I use avira and windows firewall along with malware bytes on my windows 7, works ok, might look into changing the firewall though0
