Failure to respond to request for credit information

Hi folks,
you may remember that i posted a while back to ask about the procedure for getting my credit report adjusted.
I wrote to Vodafone who removed the default on my account.
However, I wrote the same letter to AMEX and it has been a month, still no reply.
What should i do?
I didn't send it by recorded delivery so one option is to re-send. However, this time get proof of postage.
Any advice please.

If it was because you did not agree with the information Vodafone was supplying, then I would raise a dispute directly with Experian or Equifax. They will get in touch with Vodafone for you.

You misunderstood mate.
Vodafone responded promptly. It is Amex who has failed to respond.
I was assuming, they are required by law to respond to such requests?0 -
From what I understand, if they don't reply within 12 days, they cannot enforce any debts. If they fail to comply within a month, they commit an offence.
Raise a notice of dispute with the CRAs about this entry on your credit file(s). Tell them as much information as you can. They will get in touch with AMEX on your behalf.
If you don't get anywhere with this, your next port of call is to complain to the Information Commissioners Office.0 -
No. Maybe a synopsis/link to the earlier post would be useful?Cashcade wrote:you may remember that i posted a while back to ask about the procedure for getting my credit report adjusted.
In the absence of this, some general advice...
Have you invoked the official AMEX complaints procedure. They'll have some timescales to adhere to, and so this is your quickest route to a 'deadlock' letter and subsequent involvement of the Information Commissioner etc. However, I wrote the same letter to AMEX and it has been a month, still no reply.

Amex have replied and sent me a copy version of the original default letter?
Is this valid?
Also, is there any chance i can write to them and request the Default be removed from my file?0
