Hi all, please can someone help, my husband is very close to the end of his phase two training and has been getting told for some time that he will be medically discharged due to a shoulder injury that happened in phase one, he was told he would get a pay out as it was an army injury but now they are telling him he wont be medically discharged but just discharged and that he will be able to go straight back in when he is medically fit.
can someone please tell me the difference, and is this just their way of not having to pay him anything? what are the chances of them really letting him straight back in? surely if he was to be fit again anytime soon they wouldnt discharge him in the first place?
thank you for taking the time to read this, hope someone can help us. :A

Hi
can I suggest you post your query on arrse.co.uk - the unofficial army website?
If it's anything like the navy version then there will be people on there who can give proper advice.2014 Target;

Do not quote me but from memory, discharged during training even with an injury will not be compensated. (Unless the injury was due to negligence). Your husband will probably be SNLR'd (Services No Longer Required) as opposed to medically discharged. This was always the standard way of discharging recruits in training who have not yet started formal colour service (the minimum engagement).
On the brighter side, there is no reason why he could not have another go when fit. On the form we used to use, there was a recommendation about rejoining box (ie 6 months, 12 months / never etc etc).
Best of luck0
