How long before I can use a retaining wall?

    I spoke to my dad about it this morning, and he said that because the foundations are earth, it's only the footings that are concrete, it should be fine not to put holes in it. Is this right? Thank you for your help!

    A lot will depend on how the ground slopes behind the wall. If it slopes down towards the wall I would be inclined to drill in some weep holes - if it spopes down away from the wall, I would be less inclined to bother
