selling house buyers funds not through

Hi I am new to this forum, can anyone help me. I am selling my house in scotland, we accepted offer from purchaser, then usual letters from lawyers between us both, then a week before moving in date, buyer would not sign on line because his mortgage is not through, he has a loan on his house, so his father has to get a loan to allow him to meet his negative equity. that was three weeks ago, there has been phone calls, and he still wants the house but funds not through yet, dont now what to do is he legally contracted to buy our house or do we put it back up for sale, we have put an offer in on a house and may now lose this as they want us to sign or it goes back on sale, dont have a clue what to do anybody help? or can they demand we buy their house, very stressed out:(
thanks

Take advice from your solicitor. If he has not signed the contract to buy, then as I understand it, you have not sold - and you should not sign until your buyer has signed. But you need scottish advice.

This sounds like the missives have not been concluded.....It is only when they're signed this becomes contractual.......
