Hi all
I recently wrote to yorkshire bank using the template letter on here asking them to reconsider their earlier correspondece telling me that since the court ruling my claim would be closed. I listed seveal reasons why i wanted them to reconsider, 1 being that in 2008 they agreed i was in hardship and paid me £1,700 of the £7k charges back.
I also among other things suggested that the shear volume of the charges was such that my financial stuation got worse and worse and that they clearly didnt try and help but only acted in making matters worse and so on.
Anyway they wrote back recently to say that since my letter was a "template" letter and that i have no grounds to request a refund they would still go ahead and close my claim.
I have since wrote back and as yet havent heard anything from YB but id like some advice as to what people think the likely outcome of this will be ?. The charges remaining to claim are still in excess of £5k and i believe that the shear volume of charges applied to my account month after month was in itself unfair. They seem like they arent bothered and i feel sure they will respond saying as much.
Is it the FOS next ?.
Thanks

Agree with you on YB,spitting feathers,Tuesday morning cheque went in bank, showing Wednesday morning,we had overdraft of £190 which they took out straight away.Friday at 5 PM 4 full working days cheque money showing on balance but still can't draw on it.Phoned YB Friday evening to be told it could now take 6 working days to clear which now takes it to Wed as it's weekend, but yet they can take overdraft from my bank acct but i can't get my own money out,I asked him why have you took overdraft money out but could'nt answer that.
I had problems years ago with YB when they lost a cheque for £20.000 in the rubbish, turned up so i wrote to head office and charged them for the letter result £50 in the post, roll on Mon when i shall be paying them a visit.:mad::mad:0 -

The clearing cycle is Transaction Day plus 6. 2-4-6 on cheque clearing has been explained to you absolutely correctly. after T+2 you earn interest on that amount, on T+4 you can use the funds in spite of it not being cleared fully for fate. after T+6 the cheque cannot be returned unless there is a fraud and the bank believe you are part of it. On Monday you can withdraw some of the money but if it is a large amount then you are really ranting about something which you are not in the right about. Sorry, but needs to be said.0 -

You need to individualise the letter. Explain exactly what happened and why £1700.00 was not good enough.

I have no idea but the FOS will not look at the case if it is simply you disagree with the bank ie you need to argue your case as an individual and why each and every charge is unfair to you in your circumstances.0 -
