Stopping child tax credit?

Hi, this is a query for a friend. She and her partner have 1 child who has just turned 5, they haven't received the usual (well, any) child tax credit. Is this only for children under 5? they wondered if it had been stopped after her 5th birthday. Also they're homeschooling, don't know that this shouild affect it??? Many…

It might well be an error as mine has been stopped in error(they admitted this on the phone) and I have to now submit a new claim.They also didn't give me any warning-just wrote to tell me I had overpaid which I knew couldn't be right.When I rang up to query this I was told the claim had been stopped.
