3 ISA's 3 different dates how to transfer all

I am a bit confused with ISA and money anyway so here goes: I have 1 ISA started 5th April 2007 another 12th May 2008 and last year 20th April 2009.

If I want to transfer all these into an accout that offers to transfer £9000 or more does this mean the interets on these accounts are given on the day opened?

Therefore does this mean I cannot transfer them all together until after 12th May or is interest paid always from April 6th regardless whether they were opened after April 6th or not and worked out on that years months to April of the next. My last one was 20th April 2009

I hope this is clear thank you. Basically does it matter when they are opened as interest is always on the April 6th when that years ISA closes, which leaves us to transfer all the ISA from then.

Interest is paid up until maturity, not the end of the tax year.

If you want to transfer all into one ISA you will either need to wait until they all mature, or go to an ISA provider that will let you open an ISA and transfer in existing ISA's in stages - I am not sure who would allow this though.

Yes the interest starts from the day the funds have cleared the account.

If they're 'easy access' you should be able to transfer them all now ...... and interest will be added to the point of maturity / transfer (whichever comes first).

If (£9k mentioned) you're going to Santander / A&L ...... it looks as though you can also transfer each quite separately on the 'maturity' date. As the accounts I've mentioned accept transfers in and have tiered rates up to £9k+
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
