If we had some form of PR it would be possible for youth parliament and 'proper' parliament to overlap and teens might feel more involved in the democratic process, both as voters and in the House itself. I am struggling to imagine a 19 year old advising a constituent three or four times her age on matters she can have little or no experience of. It's unlikely she has ever held down a full time job never mind taken sole responsibility for reading the meter and paying winter fuel bills. If she was voted in chances are all the local jokers would rock up for her surgeries.

Sounds like most MP's of any age to be honest!!

Interestingly, to be a chartered engineer (like me!) there is a minimum age requirement of 25. I was over 30 before I got my license to kill ;) I understand that the same also applies to other professions. To be an airline pilot, I think you have to be older. In a similar vein, I would like to vote for a person with a reasonable modicum of education and experience.

In short, I would never vote for a twenty year old.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

She seems to remind me of a younger version of someone on telly Now what was her name? She used to hang about with some bald bloke and went on about eating hats.;)
