Need help about renting for the first time

hey
hope you all can help me

me and my girlfriend are looking at renting a flat/bungalow/house but we are worried about the costs of all the bills i have heard what we need to pay is

rent
gas/elec wich is around £40
water £10
phone/internet around £30
council tax about £150
home ins £15

is this about right?

or if you have advice for first renter

    You seem to have all the basic bills covered there, although your figures will need adjusting based on the property you eventually move in to.

    For initial costs you will also have to factor in things like agent fees and a deposit (usually about a months rent), which will amount to several hundred pounds. I would advise that you make sure how much these agent fees are and what they cover e.g. credit checks, before you agree to anything.
  • Don't forget your TV licence.

    Those figures are probably about right, however it depends where you are in the country etc.

    If you end up in an all electric property your energy bills will be far higher - could easily be £100 a month in winter.

    Water £25 (not metered)
    Council Tax £140 (10 months)
    TV license £12
    Phone £17.50
    Internet and Sky £40
    Home insureance £10
    Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
    Debt payments 2012 £433.27
