    Hi Kitty

The Targa on offer at Lidl has a 15.4" 1280 by 800 screen.

Targa may be relatively unknown in the UK but it is well known in Europe.

The Lidl advert missed out that the Targa has an ATI X1600 graphics card with 128MB memory, this alone makes it far superior to the Dell for those who play games or edit video.

Does anyone have the Targa machine?

And is it any good, what stores have the 15.4" model in
  • All my local stores only seem to advertise the £499.99 12" screen laptop.

Anyone know what stores definately stock the £699 machine?
  • I heard that Dell are selling off Duo Processor PC's and laptops as Intel have allowed them to cut their prices due to strong compeition from AMD and also because Intel have released the Duo 2 Core processor, so needsto reduce it's older versioned stock for the newer processor. So it probably is a good deal. One question though, if you don't need a laptop urgently, wouldn't it be wise to wait another 3 months since your are almost at the xmas point now?

The £519 6400 is a good offer too, but the specification mentioned is still £619 and offers quite a bit for the extra £100 i.e. Faster Core Duo processor, double the memory, 50% more hard drive and DVD writer instead of DVD/Cd rw. It all depends what you need a laptop for. With the graphics sharing the system RAM the higher specified machine makes more sense for my requirements.
