This may have been on the forum before but what shops and supermarkets still accept cheques as payment for goods? :T

I think a comprehensive list may run on for some pages, might it be easier to phone the shop you want to use a cheque in and ask them?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Sainsbury's certainly don't.0

Even my local independent greengrocer stopped taking cheques years ago. They now have a credit/debit card terminal, with a minimum spend of £5. I spoke to the manager once and he said it actually works out cheaper to take cards, makes people spend a little more and significantly reduced the number of fraudulent payments.0

Well sainsburys dont, i dont think tescos do, as far as i know none of the supermarkets dont, why do you want to use cheques0

Cheques are really irritating. Hopefully the banks will massively increase the cost of processing them so that more and more businesses refuse to take them.0

They are expensive and time-consuming to process, costing both the banks and retailers a lot of money.0 -
They bounce. They're expensive to process. Cheque books hurt my crotch when I keep them in the front pockets of my jeans.dane-katie wrote: »Whats wrong with cheques
