Unplanned overdraft fees

Hi, I know this is a long shot but I was wondering if I have a 'leg to stand on'
I got a letter from the bank this morning telling me I was overdrawn (sent via 2nd class mail so I don't know the precise date)
Lloyds say they're charging me a monthly fee of £15 for the unplanned overdraft, plus a £6 daily fee, plus interest on the overdrawn amount (which is £8.80) and £20 for any 'unreturned items'.
I have previously been charged a one off fee of £15 with another bank for a cheque bouncing, I then decided to get my finances in order and have been doing pretty well until this lapse.
So, I personally think this charge is a little excessive, but do I have a leg to stand on to challenge it? Is it worth writing a polite letter at all?
Or do I just accept it, move on and not let it happen again?
Thanks

Funny, that. Same thing happened to my other half today.
£3.00 overdrawn and now we're up to £60.00 which will be £120 by the time we have money to pay in.
It's disgraceful...0 -
