Engagement ring on wedding day?
Comments

Hi everyone, I'd like to tap into your collective wisdom
I've been wondering what's the right thing to do regards wearing an engagement ring on the day of your wedding?
Thanks,
Sazzy xxx
I put my engagement ring on my right hand as your wedding ring should go on your left hand first and then the engagement ring as in theory your wedding should never come off, so it should go on before your engagement ring. That's what I was told when I got married 17 years ago! (Yep and it lasted 5 yrs lol!)
I'm not saying that's what you should do, just what I did ;o)
Cheers

I wore my engagement ring on my right hand on the day and put it back on the left when my wedding ring was in place.
I think it makes sense as I never want to remove my wedding ring, but it may be that sometime in the future you might want your engagement ring checked / cleaned by a jeweler as they generally contain more stones etc.

That's right.

I asked my Mum to wear my engagement ring on the day, and I wore her grandmother's engagement ring on the right hand (my Mum gave it to me as a present just before the wedding). Now the deed is done I wear my wedding ring first with my engagement ring on top.
As the others say, do what feels right for you!0 -
Thanks so much everyone! Just wonderful to hear everyone's opinions
I'm thinking at the moment that I'll start with my engagement ring on my right hand and then swap it over afterwards... or have my maid of honour wear it on the day... the latter might be a nice thing to do...

I switched my engagement ring to my right hand on the wedding morning, then it's stayed there ever since - doesn't work around my wedding ring because of the shape of it anyway.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

Hope you get it sorted ok! We choose our rings and tried them on in the Ernest Jones shop and then ordered them online to get cashback via Quidco :money:
They arrived really quick too.
