Australia Help needed!

Hi all..........

I am going on a whirlwind trip to Oz got my flights and accomodation booked already but need help on what tours would be the best to go on and where. Im really in to Wildlife and Animals. Ive been doing my research and there is so much to choose from its freaking me out!

My itinerary is 3 nights in Perth, 3 nights in adelaide, 3 nights in Melbourne, 4 nights in Sydney, 2 nights in Ayers rock and 5 nights in Cains.

Any personal recommendations, tips and advice would be great. (Money saving of course!)

Thanks x

Search online for Rottnest Island and Quokka.

    Hi beckah

I don't have any suggestions but i was wondering if you would mind saying roughly how much the flights and accommodation cost - this is what i am hoping to do early next year! Thanks.

We did an aboriginal morning walk with a tour group at Ayers Rock - would highly recommend this as it was fascinating. Just wish we'd had more time & had been able to walk right round the rock - never mind, next time.
Please don't climb the rock due the spiritual significance it's held in by the Aborigines - the walk round is just as interesting.

When you're in adelaide you might want to consider a day trip to kangaroo island. It didn't cost much and can be booked via the hotel reception.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Yeah sure flights were 1263 each from trailfinders and accomodations were 594.41 ish each which i booked myself through the internet.

Thanks for all the other advice.

Sydney - Taronga Zoo, botanical gardens (you can see fruit bats, Ibis, sulphur crested cockatoos etc), Day trip to blue mountains if you have the time, Aquarium in Darling harbour

Cairns - Skyrail over rainforest to Karunda and railway back down, reef trip, and book a croc sighting/wildlife trip for a day

From Cairns I would recommend the trip to Kuranda, you take the scenic train one way and the skyrail on the other, this can be combined with a visit to the Tjapukai Aboriginal Park where they will demonstrate their skills and their history.

And also from Cairns you must visit the Great Barrier Reef, you can get a cruise from Port Douglas.

mossman park in perth, it's a bit out the city so depends on whether you are driving. the zoo in perth is also quite good, cross the river on the ferry.
yarravalleywinerytours.au.com is a good day out into the wine region in melbourne if you like that kind of thing, was one of our best days

    Hi,

From Melbourne I would recommend penguin island ... we enjoyed that.

Another vote for Kangaroo Island trip while in Adelaide. Also, Granite Island is fab for seeing Fairy Penguins. On the coast down there, you can sometimes see Southern Right Whales off the coast (I was lucky enough to spot a Mum and calf). There's a phoneline you can call that tells you if they know of any whales in the area that you might be able to spot, but I'm not sure what it is.

The Dandenongs near Melbourne might be good for wildlife.
