Ebay buyer insisting on collection

I'm very upset as a buyer is being quite aggressive and insisting on collecting at item that he has won for 99p.

Three others prior to the end of the auction asked about collection, I said no, we have young children and feel that it's our right not to offer this.

There was only postage options on the listing. No collection options.

The postage is not over priced the stamp will cost £11.74 I've charged £12.

Not sure what to do, but don't want him anywhere near me nor my 18 month old.

Wish I'd never listed the bundle, only did so as the charity shop had no space, it's used children's toys. Thought someone might be able to use them. Our local sure start children's centre couldn't take them either as health and safety gone mad

Do not let the buyer dictate terms. Send them an invoice with the postage charge on (you may find it cheaper using a courier and it will give added protection against a PP dispute).

Politely tell him it is postage only. Then have no further contact with him on that subject.

As TOWU has said. If you have not listed it as collection you do not have to. Just respond to the person stating that collection is not an option and if they had wanted to know they should have asked before bidding. Tell them firmly but politely. Then send them an invoice after.

After 4 days open a non paying bidder dispute.

The same has happened to me before. The buyer originally sent a message asking when he could collect it and could he pay me on collection after the bidding ended. I said I was only offering first and second class postage as stated on the listing and then he repiled 'well I don't want it then.' What was annoying is that I had listed it on a free listing day, so was faced with the choice of having to pay to list it again or waiting for the next free listing day.

I now put at the bottom of the description of any listing that I do "Collection of this item in person is not an available option." However, I've still almost had the same problem despite doing that as when I relisted the item mentioned above an hour before bidding closed I got a message saying something along the lines of "I didn't notice your message about collection. I'm OK to collect it aren't I?" I immediately replied saying "No. Please retract your bid", they didn't retract their bid but fortunately got outbid.
