If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

thats a good point can even try FLL the Miami -Orlando drive is not that bad i went on the turnpike took me about 2.5hrs,well worth a 2.5 hour drive it it saves a decent wedge.chop 30-40 mins off if fly in to FLL.0 -
A point to note is that LGW operated to 100%. No flights from LGW will be affected by strikes.0

Travel agents view - book Virgin! BA seem to strike for fun and it's not worth the hassle nearer the time! but do shop around your price does sound high!0

I'd hardly call one strike in 20 years "strike for fun", and there's absolutely nothing stopping Virgin (or any other airline) staff going on strike.Legal team on standby0 -
My bro just booked 3 weeks with us in FL - Aug - With Continental (1 change at Huston or Newark) under £600 each with hotel.
Also if you only want 1 or 2 weeks fly charter to Sanford Orlando (better airport than OIA anyway) Thomas Cook, Thompson, Monarch.

OP, go where you want, but take into account whether you want to fly with Virgin or BA, I'd say, don't just look at them, but also the other carriers, and the probability your flight won't be affected.
Just for the record, I'd rather go to Europe for a holiday. It's still different culture and can be quite fun.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.
