Burglar Alarm went off in powercut

Hi
When we moved into our house, there was an alarm fitted (and had power to it) but the previous owner had never used ait as she didnt know the codes.
All has been fine until last night when we had a power cut. The alarm went off and scared the living daylights out of us as we couldnt turn it off.
It has obviously got a back up power source somewhere.
How easy (and cheap) is it to:
a) find and disconnect the backup power
b) get the system reset so we know the codes?
The name on the panel box is Rascal Super.

Backup power is usually done by way of 2 batteries.
One in the controll unit where the buttons are, and one up inside the bell box.
If you disconnect both of these and the incoming mains then the bells wont ring anymore.
I am not sure where you could get the factory/ engineer reset codes from.“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -
I had the same problem a couple of years ago and was told that the factory passcode setting was 1234 - not sure if this is for all alarms but worth a try. The battery is probably dead and just needs replacing by an alarm company, it cost me £40 (I think) for a new battery and service, he reset the passcode too.0
